Deconstructing a Mindset Experiment

Quick Write:

I do believe that changing my mindset will change my grades for the better. I started the 1st marking period late and I didn't want to complete the missing blog. I had a fixed mindset on that. But I decided to do my blogs, I change my mindset to a growth mindset, and my grade when up. I didn't give up, I accomplish it.

Final Reflection:

The findings is believable I agree. It shows how they didn't give up. I can envision just by knowing about mindsets. Fixed mindset don't put in no effort, but growth mindset do. It changes your attitude toward learning.

  1. The experiment divided the 7th graders into two groups. One group (the control group) was only taught study skills. The second group (experimental group) was taught study skills AND about mindset. The math grades in the second group improved so the researchers concluded that knowing about mindset--that intelligence can be improved--will improve the academic performance of students. You are indeed the poster girl of a growth mindset! Did just learning about it really change your attitude? Great!
