My main character has a fixed mindset. The settling is back in history, when they first started to use a veil. All the student in her class and herself didn't want to wear it. It was change and they didn't want change. It was something new.

Critical thinking and identity have a relationship. They both have information on something. In order to identity you got to do critical thinking first. You think with a clear and open mind and inform by evidence. Then you could identity the information. For example the way you think.
As we read 1984, think about Winston Smith's image of himself and his level of critical thinking. Does he question things? How does his questioning of his reality relate to his self-image? Don't forget to ask someone (including me) to proofread your work before publishing.
